Freeport Area Newbie Bard Armor Quests

The abridged version. Just wanted to let those that aren't sure know where to go to get the component items for their newbie armor quest.

The Helm:
-2 Crude Iron Ore: carried by the plethora of orcs that inhabit Eastern Commons. I will usually approach a group and ask them if they mind if I loot the corpses that they leave for the ore, since it's usually junk to them.
-1 Ruined Wolf Pelt: Find a wolf, ruin his pelt, and then take it.
-1 Deathfist Pawn Scalp: Found on the orc pawns that wander the newbie area in West Freeport and Eastern Commons.
-1 Barley: Buy this from the woman hiding in the corner in West Freeport very near the North Freeport zone area.

Bracer
(you can do this one twice)
-1 Crude Iron Ore: You should know this one by now
-2 Chunks of Meat: Black bears and wolves will both drop this, so check those animals when you kill them.
-1 Black Wolf Skin: Flay that sucker!
-1 Cat's Eye Agate: Can be tricky to find. In North Freeport, there is a blue, unmarked building that people refer to as simply the "blue building." This item can be bought from a vendor on the ground floor.

Armguards
-2 Crude Iron: getting the picture?
-1 Preserved Snake Eye: Can be hard to get. Darkweed Snakes drop this item, but it's rare, and the poison is a pain. Might get help from a higher level character for this one, as you might wind up killing up to and more than thirty.
-1 Burned Out Lightstone: Can be found on willowisps, but use caution; the item is no-drop and no-rent. I waited until I had everything else before looking for one of these.
-1 Mead: Can be bought in most any tavern.

Boots

-3 Crude Iron: Those orcs are going to get to know you by name!
-1 Ruined Bear Skin: As with the wolf, the bear is rather reluctant to let go of his skin, and you may have to convince him.
-1 Severed Orc Foot: Quite possible you've already found one of these while looking for Crude Ore.

Greaves
-4 Crude Iron Ore: yep
-2 Spiderling Eyes: Easy enough to get, with the number of spiderlings on the eastern end of Eastern Commons
-1 Lion Tail: Might be hard to get at lower levels, but as the name suggests, the lions of EC drop this item
-1 Bottle: Bought at any brewing supply retailer.
-1 Grizzly Bear Skin: Surprisingly, in spite of the name, I looted this item off a black bear. Again, he may require a little encouragement to part with it.

Gauntlets
-3 Crude Iron Ore: Are you starting to hear a moan as the orcs see you approach?
-1 Fire Beetle Eye: As the name suggests, kill Fire Beetles for this component.
-1 Pawn Pick: Probably seen several of these, by now. Orc Pawns carry them as a prefered weapon.
-2 Giant Scarab Brains: You will definately need help with this one, unless you want to wait to level before getting your armor. I didn't.

Breastplate (hardest of all)
-5 Crude Iron Ore: Go get 'em!
-1 Coyote Skull: found on Shadow Wolves, not Coyotes
-1 Snake Bile: fairly common on the giant rattle snakes that continuously wander around the sandy parts of Eastern Commons, but it's no-drop, so it's tricky to procure.
-1 Enlarged Fire Beetle Leg: This is where they trick you. Large Fire Beetles do not drop this item, but Giant Fire Beetles do. Get help, or level up a bit before trying to tackle one.
-1 Vial of Smoke: Dropped by willowisps. I got lucky enough to find a guy killing them to level, and he let me loot a burned out lightstone, and low-and-behold, there was also a vial of smoke on it!
-1 Young Plains Cat Backbone: Somewhat of a rare drop, and it is no-drop, so you can't buy it.

Combine your items, use a forge with the proper molds, and you'll have yourself a nifty little suit of armor that actually has some decent numbers on it! I had a complete suit with two bracers by the time I was level 6. Most of all, have fun!
